The words <ui>Safe Mode</ui> appear in the corners of your monitor to identify which <notLocalizable>Windows</notLocalizable> mode you're using.</para>
    <para>If an existing problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the <glossaryEntryLink><linkText>default</linkText><uri href="mshelp://windows/?id=be27e4fc-0da6-4ffb-a100-216bcc8e2879#gtmt_default_def"><summary>View definition</summary></uri></glossaryEntryLink> settings and basic device drivers as possible causes.
